# Create a world free from plastic pollution

We clean the ocean, rivers, and coastlines — and we don't stop until the job is done.

Mission statement

## Ending plastic pollution, pound by pound.

4ocean Foundation is dedicated to ending plastic pollution by cleaning our ocean, rivers, and coastlines, tackling the growing threat of microplastics, and empowering communities through education and awareness.

**OUR VISION**
A world free from plastic pollution, where the ocean thrives and future generations inherit a healthier planet.

Why we clean

## Our lives depend on the ocean. So does everything else.

The ocean covers more than 70% of the planet's surface, generates a significant portion of the oxygen we breathe, and sustains countless forms of life. It's where communities work, where families connect with nature, and where future generations will inherit either a thriving ecosystem — or a plastic-choked one.

Plastic pollution is a dual threat. Each piece of plastic in the ocean is a hazard to marine life, but as it photodegrades, a single water bottle can fragment into millions of microscopic particles. Microplastic pollution now threatens the health of every living being on this planet.

> Seeing our ocean, rivers, and coastlines polluted with plastic — wildlife struggling to survive, communities losing their livelihoods **that's what fuels our mission.**

## 18 billion pounds

of plastic enter the ocean every year. Our mission is to stop it — **one pound at a time.**

How we work

## Expanding across the ocean, rivers, and coastlines

- ### Boats

Our fleet patrols coastlines and open waters, recovering plastic and debris that crews on foot could never reach — including our highest-capacity vessel, the Dugong.
- ### Booms

Deployed across river systems, our boom network intercepts plastic before it reaches the ocean — containing accumulations so crews can make an outsized impact fast.
- ### Beaches

Daily crews walk shorelines, mangroves, and coastal zones hand-collecting debris —capturing what boats can't reach and keeping plastic from re-entering the water.
