Team Brady & 4ocean Foundation Extend Partnership

Back-to-back E1 Series World Champion Team Brady and Boca Raton-based 4ocean Foundation announce the extension of their partnership, through the team’s Race for Change platform, following a highly successful 2025 season.

As the Founding Partner of the Race for Change initiative and the Team’s Official Ocean Cleanup Partner, 4ocean Foundation will continue to work alongside Team Brady to deliver impactful initiatives, including ocean and coastal cleanups and educational campaigns. The Race for Change platform harnesses the power of sport to drive global impact by highlighting sustainable technologies, promoting equal opportunities and delivering tangible results for marine preservation.

The collaboration, a partnership that redefines the role of philanthropy in sport, links competitive performance directly to measurable environmental impact. In 2025, for every point Team Brady scored in the 2025 UIM E1 World Championship, 4ocean Foundation removed 100 kg of plastic and trash from our ocean, rivers, and coastlines. Team Brady secured a second straight title and became back-to-back World Champions at the season finale in Miami, the team scored a total of 195 points, resulting in a total of 19,500 kg of waste removed for this season. This is essentially enough plastic to cover an entire football field several inches deep.

This shared commitment extended beyond the race season. During the 2025 Giving Season, Team Brady deepened its support of 4ocean Foundation through a fundraising campaign that benefited from the amplified voice of Team Brady pilot Emma Kimilainen, the E1 Pilot of the Year. By sharing her personal and professional connection to the ocean, Emma helped elevate awareness around the Bali rainy season, one of the most critical moments for ocean plastic mitigation in the Indo-Pacific, one of the most biodiverse regions in the world. With Team Brady’s support, the Foundation reached its fundraising goal, enabling the removal of an additional ~97,500 kg of plastic from the Bali region in November and December alone.

Building on this momentum, 4ocean Foundation and Team Brady have jointly pledged to double their commitment in 2026. This season, through the Race for Change partnership, every point will fund the removal of 200 kg of plastic pollution, amplifying the ability to support cleaner waterways, healthier marine life, and more resilient coastal communities.

Ben King and Joe Sturdy, Co-Team Principals of Team Brady, said: “Our partnership with 4ocean Foundation has redefined what sport can achieve. Winning back-to-back championships is special, but knowing that every point we score removes real waste from the world’s waters gives that success a deeper purpose. Doubling the impact to 200kg per point in 2026 takes our Race for Change platform to a new level, and we’re incredibly proud to continue building this movement together.”

Alex Schulze, Founder, 4ocean Foundation, added: “I’m so stoked to extend this partnership. What Team Brady and the E1 series are doing is making sustainability cool - and that’s exactly what the world needs. The 2025 season proved that sport can drive real environmental change, and doubling our commitment for 2026 shows how serious we are about the impact we can create together. If we want to reduce the amount of plastic entering the ocean every year, we’ve got to make action accessible, visible, and inspiring. Team Brady helps us do exactly that.”

Together, Team Brady and 4ocean Foundation continue to set a new benchmark for sport-driven climate action - turning every race, every point, and every season into a force for good.

Help us Continue to Turn the Tide this Rainy Season.

When heavy rains wash plastic into Bali’s rivers, your donation helps stop it before it reaches the ocean.

Each year, from November through early Spring, the Bali Rainy Season brings heavy monsoon rains that overwhelm local waste systems and push massive volumes of plastic and debris from inland communities into rivers and out to sea. This intense window accounts for some of the highest concentrations of ocean-bound pollution each year, making rapid intervention essential.

80% of the plastic pollution that ends up in the ocean is estimated to come from land-based sources, with rivers acting as the primary pathway. Our river boom system is designed to prevent this transportation of trash, acting as a netted barrier device that contains the waste before it can reach the ocean. Between cleanups, these booms actively stop the flow of trash downstream and hold the accumulation of debris in one area, enabling the crew to make a big impact in a short amount of time.

Unfortunately, trash still makes its way along other water systems and into the ocean. By conducting cleanups in estuaries, along coastlines, and in the ocean, with the operation of our highest-capacity marine vessel, the Dugong, the team can more efficiently manage the dispersion of waste before it floats beyond our reach.

Every donation powers our ongoing cleanup efforts in Bali, reducing plastic pollution and helping restore a healthy ocean full of life. Pound by pound, each bag of trash collected lessens the burden on our environment, allowing nature to breathe a little easier and for the restoration of marine ecosystems.

Join us in continuing to protect the Ocean during one of the most critical moments of the year.

One Person. One Action. Real Impact.

This Earth Month, join Agung in the mission to protect the water we all depend on.

Born and raised in Badung, Bali, Agung Wawan grew up with a deep, personal connection to the water. Like many in his community, his family relied on local rivers for daily necessities, making the health of these waterways not just an environmental concern, but a way of life.

Agung has been making a real difference right in his own community. Every cleanup, every piece of plastic and trash pulled from the water, helps protect the place he calls home, and beyond.

All it takes is one person, one voice, one action. Together, we can protect the ocean, rivers, and coastlines that sustain us all.

Fast Facts:

  • Bali crews have removed over 4.8 million pounds of plastic and debris since the Foundation's start in 2025, all powered by donations.
  • These crews average approximately 700+ cleanups per month throughout river systems, coastlines, near shore, and off shore environments.
  • More than 500 local school children are educated annually through facility tours.
  • Millions of people inspired and educated through global visual storytelling.

 Reimagining Partnership Through Hope

This World Ocean Month, 4ocean Foundation joined Mission Blue and Coral Triangle Center to help protect Bali's Nusa Penida Marine Protected Area and Mission Blue Hope Spot, one of the most biodiverse marine ecosystems on Earth.

This year's UN World Ocean Day theme, Reimagine, and the global action theme of Strong Marine Protected Areas remind us that hope becomes impact when people come together to protect critical marine ecosystems. Together, we are removing plastic pollution while supporting the long-term protection of places like the Nusa Penida Marine Protected Area and Mission Blue Hope Spot.

Watch the event preview video to see this collaboration in action, and stay tuned for the release of the full short film on June 26.

Inspired by this work? Your support helps power 4ocean Foundation's year-round efforts to clean our ocean, rivers, and coastlines while protecting critical marine ecosystems around the world. Small Swaps,

Real Impact

Every year, billions of pounds of plastic make their way into landfills, waterways, and the ocean, much of it from items we use for just a few minutes before throwing them away. Straws, shopping bags, coffee cup lids, and food wrappers are designed for convenience, but their impact lasts for centuries. Meaningful change doesn't require a complete lifestyle overhaul. It starts with small, intentional swaps that add up over time, like choosing a reusable water bottle, bringing your own bags to the grocery store, or opting for a bar of soap instead of one packaged in plastic.

Reducing single use plastic isn't about perfection, it's about progress. Every step toward less waste helps build the foundation for cleaner communities, healthier ecosystems, and a thriving ocean.

We're proud to be an official partner of Plastic Free July, the world's largest global campaign to educate and inspire people to go plastic free. Learn more about the movement and find resources to get started at plasticfreejuly.org.

It Starts With A Crazy Idea

“When my friend and I first started 4ocean, we were just two surfers trying to clean the ocean. We never imagined that our scrappy little startup would become a global cleanup operation that recovers millions of pounds of trash from the world’s ocean, rivers, and coastlines every year. But we did it like we’ve always done it… one pound of trash at a time.”
